Hendrie has returned

I caught the first hour of Phil's new show on "Talk Radio Network". Seems to be much less schtick with much more political and world history discussion. I imagine he's already inundated with requests like "Do the funny voices!" Either way, he tends to have an interesting delivery, no matter what he's talking about.

You can stream it for free from TRN between 10PM and 1AM Pacific.

Dead body redux

A long time ago, I wrote about a dead body I had seen in Mountain View. Now, through the magic of technology, I can show you right where he was laying! (Er, somebody should tell those people they're sitting in dead-body cooties.)

Major kudos to whoever can link an actual dead-body picture via Street View.

Craig, you big jerk

Looks like Craig's List has recently blocked a really useful browser site, listpic.com. The listpic site was a very handy way to view Craig's List ads that contained pictures; it allowed you to quickly filter out the noise when looking for a specific local ad. This doesn't make a lot of sense from my perspective; listpic was a really easy way to browse Craig's List, and now I'm a lot less likely to use its services.

If you feel inclined to do so, you can bitch about it here.

UPDATE: they've ported listpic to use backpage.com (another ad site) instead.

Local television via YouTube

This is rad. I hope this becomes a more widespread trend--or at least comes to Atlanta!

It sort of puts Tivo-type companies out of business, though. Imagine if all television content was on-demand, for free, if only you have a broadband connection to your ISP? (Sounds good to me.)
